Former Cox customers: outages, restarts and support

Independent help for Orange County customers. We're not Spectrum or Cox.

Not affiliated with Spectrum or Cox. Contact the provider directly for account, billing or repairs.

Charter completed its acquisition of Cox in August 2026 and moved Cox markets to Spectrum branding in mid-September. For account, billing and outages, use the official Spectrum website or app, or the contact details in your latest account notice. More in OC's two Spectrum networks.

In Orange County

Cox's OC network now operates as Spectrum (since September 2026).

Checking for an outage

  1. Open the app named in your latest account notice.
  2. Or use the official support site.
  3. See reports on Downdetector.

Restarting

Most customers have a cable modem and router. Follow the right restart order, and don't press reset.

Getting support

Use the number on your bill, in the app, or on the provider's own site. We don't list phone numbers because fake ones are a common scam.

Avoid fake support numbers. Scam ads and look-alike sites pretend to be provider support, then ask for remote access or gift-card payments. Use only the number on your bill, in the official app, or on the provider's own website.

Outages keep happening?
