Outage help
Internet down? Let's find out why
Six checks to tell a device, WiFi, equipment or provider problem apart.
- One device or all of them? If just one, restart it and rejoin WiFi.
- Check equipment lights. Red, orange or blinking usually means no signal.
- Look for an outage in your provider's app or site (below), or on Downdetector.
- Restart in order: modem or fiber box first, then router. See how to restart.
- Try a wired laptop. If wired works, the issue is WiFi. See gear guide.
- Check power and cables. Construction and power blips are common causes.
